Sew for Victory Update!

So far I made quite some progress with my Sew for Victory project!

I only need to add the sleeves, add button holes and buttons and hem the skirt! Yay for fast and easy sewing!

So far I'm really happy with how the project is turning out!

And because I will finish this dress soon I'm starting to think a second project! It's a UFO, a plaided skirt which is laying in a box for over 2 years now.

On a different note: I'm so glad with the crafting community. Yesterday I blogged about my knitwork and I received very helpful comments. Siri and WendyBee thank you so much! I tried 'pressing' it and it really worked out!

  1. I love this dark-berry-red of you fabric. And the ruffle around the collar, really beautiful. It is going to be a lovely dress! I haven't even started my SfV-project, I am not sure if I will make it in time (having the challenges of the Historical Sew forthnighty to maker as well). But I joined the Flickr-Group, if not to articipate then at least to see all the beautiful creations. love, ette

  5. I love this. That pink is my favourite shade, and I love the floral. It's so sophisitcatedly feminine. It will be a beautiful dress. And best luck finishing the skirt.

  6. Jeez, you are really efficient!! Everything looks great!
Also very happy your knitting turned out fine :) I really should have been more clear about the steaming, but WendyBee was awake and mentioned the hovering over. All these language issues ;)

  12. This is a wonderful dress, really! Gorgeous summer colours, magnificent pattern! What kind of patterns is it?
I would love to join a "Sew for Victory" once, but somehow I always miss them until it's too late to join... :-( Next time, please remind me to join in! :-) I think, under a certain pressure of deadline I could be more efficient!

  14. That fabric is gorgeous!!! I love how each time I look at it another colour from the floral pattern pops out at me. Sometimes one wants a more dramatic floral, as lovely as soft pastel or ones on white backgrounds are, and this fabric fits that bill splendidly.
