I'm back!

Dear readers,

It's been a while since my last post. I moved to a new place and it took lots of time to get it ready. The previous renter had lived here for years and he was a heavy smoker. Everything was sooo filthy! But now it's all clean and freshly painted :) Last weekend I moved to my new home, and this week I spent time unpacking boxes.

Today I had the feeling it's time to get back to blogging, sewing and knitting! I haven't been sewing or knitting for months, but it's good to be back!

So what's on my sewing table?

Last spring I started tracing a vintage slacks pattern (Hollywood 800). I traced a few pattern pieces and then other sewing projects got my attention. These pants aren't the hardest to make, so I hope it will help me getting started. With autumn around the corner it's the perfect project to start sewing again.

I haven't read much blogs the last couple of months, now I'm settled at my new place I'm eager to catch up!

How have you been doing?

  5. Oh, it is good to see you back here :) Must be nice to finally be settled in your new HQ.
I have not been sewing anything, nor blogged one little bit. I think I've lost my mojo. I am just going to let it play it's course and not force it. I will get back to it sometime, no doubt. In the meantime, I look forward to seeing your slacks. You're right; it is the perfect project for fall :)

    1. Yes, its nice to live in my new place. For 2 months I lived 4 days in my new place and 3 at my old. That is really tiresome I can tell you!

I think I lost my knitting mojo. I just don''t feel like knitting at all.
I hope you get your mojo back! I love your makes!

  8. Best wishes for your new home! It's always lots of work to move, but it's also so exciting.

I made some more 40s slacks recently, some tops (a blouse, a sweater, a wrap top, all of them not yet blogged about), and I started a red suit with a skirt similar to yours, but the fabric was so bad (cheap quality) that I had to throw everything away. Nonetheless I will make the pattern again. Currently I have a late 1940s jacket for autumn on my sewing table and an early 1950s dress. Both should get finished today as I will leave for a trip abroad soon.

I'm in love with your new project, the pattern is amazing! I'm excited to see your finished suit! Is the fabric black or dark blue?

    1. Thanks!

I only make the trousers of this pattern! The fabric is a black denim.
You have been productive! Can't wait to see the results!

  9. Oh, sweet dear, having been in that same kind of situation - knowing in your heart of hearts that something deeper was wrong and taking months or even years in some cases to get the root of a particular problem or condition - many times myself, I can truly relate, empathize and sympathize with what you've been going through. I'm happy beyond measure for you that you've learned this valuable piece of information and hope that whatever treatment route you peruse proves to be of great help to you.

Thank you very much for your immensely lovely comment today. I adore your blog and always feel a wave of delight when I see that you've posted a new entry.

Here's to the hope that things will improve for you on fronts as we wrap up 2014 and get ready to usher in a new year.

    Gentle hugs from snowy Canada,
    ♥ Jessica
